ADHD in women looks different.

100 statements. About 12 minutes. Built for the women who were never the loud kid in the classroom.

Most of what we know about ADHD was written from studying males. Women are more likely to have the inattentive kind, more likely to mask it, and more likely to be told it is anxiety. Then estrogen drops in perimenopause and the whole thing gets louder.

This is a self-screener, not a diagnosis. It scores six traits and tells you plainly which ones are showing. Answer for how you are most of the time, not on your best day.

What this can and cannot tell you

  • This is a screening questionnaire. A high score means your traits are worth a proper assessment. It does not mean you have ADHD.
  • A low score does not rule it out either, especially if you have spent years building systems that hide the struggle.
  • Brain fog, forgetfulness, low mood and restlessness also come from perimenopause, low iron, thyroid problems, poor sleep, sleep apnea, anxiety and depression. Sometimes it is more than one thing at once. A proper assessment looks at all of it.

What to do next

  • Save or print this page and bring it to your nurse practitioner or family doctor. It gives them somewhere to start.
  • Ask about a formal ADHD assessment. In Canada that usually means a longer structured interview, a look back at childhood, and sometimes input from someone who knew you then.
  • If you are 40 or over and the overwhelm is new or newly worse, ask about perimenopause in the same conversation. Estrogen supports dopamine, and when it drops, attention and mood often drop with it.
  • You deserve answers, not dismissal.
